[Campbell [1954, p.D127] considers Sethopyramis Haeckel, 1881a to be an objective synonym of Cephalopyramis Haeckel, 1881a. He designates Sethopyramis enneactis Haeckel, 1887a as the type species of Cephalopyramis, and only be inference of Sethopyramis. Therefore, we consider that Campbell has not made a type species designation for Sethopyramis. Chediya [1959, p.206] designates Cornutrella scalaris Ehrenberg, 1873a, p.221; Ehrenberg, 1875, pl.2, fig.1, x300. [See Sestropyramis Haeckel, 1887a] Strelkov and Lipman [1959, p.455] designate Sethopyramis quadrata Haeckel, 1887a, p.1254, pl.54, fig.2, x300]
