Translated description: 5a. Tribe: Stichocorida. Open, eradiate Stichocyrtida.
A. Girdled Stichocorida (with aperture smooth or truncate).
AI. Obtuse (with cephalis smooth, not spiny).
Ia. With all the strictures separate and annular.
a++ With cephalis bearing a tube (one pore extended laterally as a tube). (Translated from Latin by E.M.R. and W.R.R.)]
Remarks on original description: [Campbell [1954, p.D41] considers Siphocampe to be an objective synonym of Siphocampium Haeckel, 1881a. However, this seems inappropriate as the type species of Siphocampium [Siphocampium accrescens Rust, 1885b] was not among those species first subsequently assigned to Siphocampe. Chediya [1959, p.234] designates Siphocampe tubulosa Haeckel, 1887a, p.1500, pl.79, fig.13, x300. [See Siphocampula Haeckel, 1887a] Strelkov and Lipman [1959, p.459] designate Siphocampe annulosa Haeckel. 1887a, p.1500, pl.79, fig.10, x300. (In Nigrini, 1977, p.254)]
