Original Description

Shell globular, with 2 similar opposite polar spines, these spines relatively and actually short (not exceeding 0.75 diameter of cortical shell and often shorter), otherwise like those of minor minor Clarkand Campbell (1942); cortical and medullary shells spherical, the former with a very thick wall, and its surface having minute sepaloid points, so that, in general, it is smooth, the cortical shell seemingly larger than usual because of the relative shortness of the spines; other characters similar to thos of minor minor Clark and Campbell (1942). Lenth of polar spinens not exceeding 90 µ; diameter of cortical shell 120 µ; thickness of wall 23.2 µ. This subspecies differs from minor minor Clark and Campbell (1942) as indicated, and from minor leptoxyphos Clark and Campbell (1942) in haing shorter and stouter spines; its wall is thicker than in either species.

Editors' Notes
[The authors here lists this subspecies under the subgeneric name Stylosphaerantha and include the subgeneric name in the species name.
