Original Description

Shell globular with two opposite polar spines of equal length, these rather thin and sharp, distinctly three-angled with the interfaces parallel to the planes of the angles, tips sharp; cortical shell spherical, wall moderately thick, surface with subcircular pores becoming subhexagonal as the sepaloid points develop in the distal section, pores about four or five across a radius; medullary shell about 0.25 of the cortical one diameter, with eight or ten subhexagonal pores across the diameter, bars very thin, with approximately eight beams, two polar beams thicker than the others.

Size:
Length of polar spines, 110µm; diameter of the cortical shell, 100µm; of the medullary shell, 25.4µm; of the pores, 10µm; width of wall, 10µm.

Extra details from original publication
Distinguishing characters: Stylosphaera minor minor n. subsp. differs from S. minor leptoxyphos n. subsp. in thicker, heavier polar spines which are shorter, also, than in that subspecies.
