Original Description
1a. Tribus: Acrospyrida. Triospyrida acuta, cum spina apicali (vel occipitali).
C. spina apicali triplici (media occipitali, duabus parietalibus).
CI. pedibus tribus simplicibus.

Translation: la. Tribe: Acrospyrida. Acute Triospyrida, with apical (or occipital) spine.
C. With a triple apical spine (one median occipital, and two parietal) .
CI. With three simple feet. (Translated from Latin by E.M.R. and W.R.R.)]

Editors' Notes
Although described as a sub-genus by Haeckel, Triospyris has been used as a genus in the description of the species listed here.
