Taxonomy

Citation: Planohedbergella aspera (Ehrenberg, 1854)
taxonomic rank: species
Basionym: Phanerostomum asper Ehrenberg, 1854
Synonyms:
Taxonomic discussion: Bronnimann (1952) says this taxon should not be used owing to its confused taxonomy; original illustrations and description of this species are inadequate. But Pessagno (1967) designated a lectotype and Masters (1977) illustrated topotypes. Occasionally biapertural. [copied from Chronos database]
