Original description: Eine andere neue Form Cladococcus M. entfernt sich von den gewöhnlichen Polycystinen, dafs sie kleine äufsere Schale, aber ein gegittertes sphärisches Kerngehäuse besitzt, von welchem einige lange dünne ästige, nicht hohle Stacheln unregelmäfsig nach verschiedenen Richtungen radial ausgehen.

Es ist nöthig hievon den Fall zu unterscheiden, wenn die radialen ästig getheilten Stacheln über der thierischen Capsel durch einzelne Kieselarcaden verbunden sind, Acanthodesmia M. Dahin gehört ein in Cette beobachtetes kleines Wesen das ich wiederzusehen wünschen mufs, da die Verbrennung der Weichtheile nicht glücklich zu Ende geführt werden konnte.


Translated description: Other form of Cladococcus M. not close to the typical Polycystinen, with a small external shell and a spherical latticed central structure from which originate irregular, branched, thin and delicate, plain spines of same length, directed following different radial directions.

It is necessary to distinguish Acanthodesmia M., when the branched radial spines fork and join over the central capsule in a single siliceous ring. A small form that I have seen at Cette [Sète, French Mediterranean sea-shore] and that I would like to check again after an incomplete combustion of the living parts, can be related to it.
