[Roundish lenticular spongious shell, with an inner central small disc made of more dense spongious cells from which radiate thin beams. Periphery of the spongious shell ending in a circular border, continuous excepted at one point where siliceous bars of the spongious network protrude outside as small indentations looking like an aperture. On the border 16 small thorns distributed at regular intervals. (In German. Translation by J.P.C.)]
Diameter of the disc: 0.2 mm, diameter of the inner disc: 0.033, average size of the polygonal to circular pores: 0.003 - 0.005. Length of the small thorns of the border: 0.003 - 0.013.]
Very rare.
Remarks on original description: [New name Spongotrochus craticulatus in Petrushevskaya, 1975c]
Petrushevskaya 1975 - Spongotrochus craticulatus Diameter of the disk is about 200µ-280µ. Radial spines go outside the gown.
