Original description: Shell consists of two shells; one outer and one inner shell. Outer shell globular, quite large, thick-walled, smooth-surfaced with rosette-shaped pores regular in size and form. Inner shell bit pear-shaped, delicate. Polar spines three-bladed in cross-section, dissimilar in size; one very short, the other longer, slightly curved. Some specimens often have short spines in the equatorial plane.
