Distinguishing features:
Parent taxon (Alisphaera): Coccoliths placolith-like, with asymmetrical distal flange
This taxon: Flange extension sub-vertical, angular with sub-parallel sides and pointed end. Similar to A. capulata but with distinct central fissure and flange extension simpler.
