Original Description

Test relatively large in size; a high trochospire with three volutions; chambers increase gradually in size, usually five globular chambers in the last whorl; last chamber ovate, elongate, protruding, obscures part of umbilicus; umbilicus wide and deep; sutures radial, distinct, depressed; primary aperture interiomarginal, extraumbilical. Polygons of the honey- comb ornamentation usually pentagonal, rarely hexagonal; all equal in size.

Etymology:
from scitulus-a-um (Latin) = pretty or elegant.

Remarks: Favusella scitula, n. sp., is characterized by being quite spiroconvex, by having a markedly ele­vated early whorl, by the elongate shape of its last chamber, and by its uniform cancellate pattern.
Range: Upper Albian: Hedbergella implicata Sub­ zone to H. punctata Subzone of the F. washitensis Assemblage Zone.
Occurrence: F. scitula, n. sp., is abundant in the Duck Creek through Denton Formations of the North Central Texas area.
