Original Description

sharp- to keeled-edge members [of the fohsi lineage]

Extra details from original publication
The turborotaloids are well represented as a prominent lineage from the Paleogene to the Holocene ,forming a central stock from which more than five branches arose at vanous times leading to keeled groups referred to Globorotalia (Blow, 1969). Some of these lineages leading from turborotaloids to separate keeled end products are summarized below:
....
2. Globorotalia (T.) peripheroronda - peripheroacuta - praefohsi - fohsi series (the last two species of the series showing the development of a keeled edge and appearing in Neogene zones 11 and 12). I propose a new subgenus, Fohsella erected for the sharp- to keeled-edge members, with the type species designated as Globorotalia (Fohsella) praefohsi Blow and Banner (1966).
