Original Description

Translation:
Shell with regular hexagonal meshes, five times as wide as the lattice bars. About 16-20 main spines, triangular, three quarters as long as the radius, broad and strong, pyramidal. Secondary spines thorny, at most a third as long as the main spines, numerously distributed over the shell.

Size:
Schalendurchmesser 0,115 mm, Porendurchmesser 0,01 mm, Gitterbalken 0,002 bis 0,003 mm, Hauptstacheln lang 0,046 mm, Nebenstacheln lang 0,01 mm, Hauptstacheln breit an der Basis 0,015 mm.
1 specimen. Shell diameter 0.115 mm, pore diameter 0.01 mm, lattice bars 0.002 to 0.003 mm, main spines long 0.046 mm, secondary spines long 0.01 mm, main spines wide at the base 0.015 mm.

Extra details from original publication

The species is closest to Heliosphaera hexagonaria H., but is only half the size and has at most 20, not 40, main spines. The lattice bars in Heliosphaera radiata are much stronger and the main spines are longer. It is distinguished from Heliosphaera octacantha Mast by the larger number of spines and the smaller shell diameter.
