Original Description
Dimensions: (3 specimens) length sagittal ring: 68-80 p, Md 68; length overall: 264-284 µ, Md 272; breadth: 268-300 µ, Md 276.
Type locality: 11°N, 155°W, plankton, 125-200 m.
Remarks: This species is most closely related to N. paradictyum Haeckel and differs from it in that it is much smaller and lacks a marginal girdle and arachnoidal framework. The specific name docris is an anagram of the word cordis meaning heart.
