Test free, small, elongate, early part flaring rapidly, with 4 to 5 pairs of biseriaUy arranged chambers followed by 2 or rarely 3 subglobular uniserial chambers, of somewhat lesser breadth than the preceding biserial stage; sutures distinct, slightly depressed, nearly horizontal; wall calcareous, finely perforate, surface smooth; aperture in the biserial stage at the base of the final chamber, terminal in the uniserial stage of the adult test, produced on a short fragile neck which is commonly broken.
