Sensibili variazioni si riscontrano pure nei caratteri aperturali: la forma dell'apertura varia da quella di un arco più o meno basso a quella di una fessura; essa può raggiungere il centro del margine periferico o arrestar si poco prima; talvolta. il bordo imperforato che la orla si presenta piegato verso l'esterno sì da assumere l'aspetto di un esile labbro.
Per forma e numero delle camere, caratteri dell'apertura e andamento delle suture, la. nuova specie presenta strette analogie con Turborotalia obesa (BOLLI); quest'ultima (della quale ho potuto esaminare numerosi esemplari del Miocene e Pliocene di varie località italiane) si distingue per l'appiattimento più marcato della trocospira, per un numero maggiore di camere nell'ultimo giro e per una forma diversa del profilo equatoriale (v. fig. 1).

Citation says 1967 but it appears it should be 1966. There is something odd about the two references as the gs link on the bottom one goes to 1966

I've just checked, it is one of those cases where the publication date of the journal is later than the cover date - probably because "Atti" are reports of society meetings. If you want to check look at the Ellis & Messina entry. I've corrected the records here. (NB Pagination is also inconsistent because the reprint is numbered 1-13 (including 3 pages of cover material) but the journal article 659-669). As for the google scholar (gs) links - they do a search based on the article title not the date.
